Welcome to Dr. Crowther’s Vein Care
Since 2008, Exclusive Vein Care has been the full-time medical practice of Alan Crowther, MD that is dedicated to the treatment of spider, reticular (blue) and varicose veins. Dr. Crowther uses state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to treat most vein problems in a comfortable office setting. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine and is an active member of the American Vein & Lymphatic Society.
In order to provide the best possible results for his patients, Dr. Crowther personally manages all aspects of his patients’ vein care. As a registered vascular ultrasonographer and registered physician in vascular interpretation (RVS, RVT, RPVI), he does his own diagnostic vein mapping. This allows him to make the most accurate diagnosis of vein disorders and best tailor treatment for each individual.
All treatments are performed by Dr. Crowther. He specializes in minimally invasive techniques including endovenous laser ablation, endovenous chemical ablation, sclerotherapy, ultrasound guided sclerotherapy and microphlebectomy along with cosmetic sclerotherapy. This gives him the flexibility to handle many different vein problems efficiently with minimal patient down time.
An essential but often overlooked part of vein care is patient follow-up. Vein anatomy and vein disease are extremely complex and are unique to each individual. It is not uncommon for secondary vein disorders to be unmasked after treatment of the most significant vein problems. Attentive and thorough follow-up care facilitates prompt management of previously hidden disorders, if needed, and leads to the best long-term results. Dr. Crowther personally does all follow up exams including ultrasound studies.
Many people avoid vein treatment with sclerotherapy because they are uncomfortable with the idea of injections. We use several measures to overcome this problem. In addition to a relaxing and comfortable environment, oral sedation may be used and, most importantly, Dr. Crowther has a calm, unhurried approach to treatment. He and his staff will answer all pertinent questions before treatment begins. Most people find with the first treatment that there is minimal discomfort and that sedatives are not needed.
It is Dr. Crowther’s policy to provide as much information as possible before any procedures are performed. New patient consultations with Dr. Crowther are available. During this consultation he will do a targeted history and physical exam and ultrasound screening as needed. He will then discuss various treatment options and his recommendations.
